Artisan Life Happenings

Giving names, titles or anything to do with words is something I truly struggle with. From business names, titles, products, craft projects, email addresses to describing what I want to say or express and everything else to do with words.

The irony of it? I have a blog!

And it’s almost 10 years now. Can you believe it? I can’t!

I kinda find it funny. For someone like me who struggle so much with words… I was able to keep up with my blogging. Blogging is not cheap and it takes a lot of time. Well at least for me. I wouldn’t even say I like to write. But I do write my feelings in a journal and I truly enjoy blogging. Even if I’m not sure if someone is reading it. Yet I’m still here. Would you also believe that blogging makes me feel better, especially when I’m anxious or feeling low.

Anyway, the reason why I’m blabbing about this is because I came across my old blog site. I found out I’m doing this for about 10 years now this coming October 12.

It was then called Thoughts Of Artisan. I was starting a series of “artisan” titles. Thoughts for my blog. Designs Of Artisan for my store. Until I realized everything should be just under one name so it’s easy to recall. Told you, I’m not really good with words. I haven’t met my husband, Wacky back then, lol (he fills in the words for me).

This was my very first blogpost. Just words there’s even no photo. I used Blogspot before I went to WordPress. It was a free domain except it includes the blogspot name in your domain.

The free version is limited if you want to customize it. It’s actually not bad at all. Not to mention, all my posts are still there until now. However, it came to a point I wanted to add few more plug-ins. Thus, made me move to WordPress.

The reason I started blogging was because I came across few blogs that truly inspired me. They were also making wedding stationery and they share their works through their blog. I got inspired how generous and helpful they were and thought maybe I could also do the same thing for others too.

Funny thing, they also moved from blogspot as well. Sad to say though, their blogs are outdated already. Like I said, blogging takes a lot of time.

These were the two blogs I mentioned from my first blog post. Chelle Paperie is now Petal and Print. While Parcel Post in now Urbanic Paper.

This was my last post in Blogspot. You can still find my previous posts there. You’ll see more of our projects before. Looking back, I kinda find those projects a bit embarrassing. In hindsight, I can see how far I’ve grown.

Blogging has been here for a long time. From Live Journal and Tumbler. But right now, people lean towards more on videos. I also have joined the bandwagon in videos too since I also enjoy watching tutorials and creative processes. You can find me on Youtube in case you want to check.

Things may have change but there’s still something about blogging that remains charming for me. I still like looking at the photos and reading how the author or creator speaks like as if I’m reading a book. Not to mention, I normally land most of my collab projects through my blog.

So, how about you? Do you also blog? Or are you still blogging? Which one do you prefer, reading blogs or watching videos?
