Watercolor Painting Process: Gladioli

Design Projects Fun Stuff

Hi lovelies! This month started out of rhythm. It’s the 3rd day of July now yet, I still cannot find my grove. I hope the second half of the year is treating you differently.

In the meantime, I posted a new video painting process on my YouTube channel. To be honest, I didn’t expect this flower will turn out nice. While I was painting this, I seriously couldn’t understand what I was doing. I don’t know this flower so I can’t figure how to go about the petals. Surprisingly though, I really like the outcome.

Here are the materials I used:

• Watercolor Flower Artist’s Bible book

• Daniel Smith extra fine watercolour

• Escoda Brush

• Grumbacher Watercolor Paper Pad

• Prismacolor Col-erase Brown Pencil

Some of the colours from the book was not available in my palette. So I was using whatever colour that is available in my palette. I like that by adding more water on red, it’s a light pink.

On the other note, it’s World Watercolor Month. If you’re into watercolour, you should definitely check Doodlewashs website and their challenges.
