Rapunzel’s Tower

Design Projects Kids

Character themes are not my forte. That’s because I don’t really know how to draw them. So I try to look for something else that’s related to that character instead.

Once in awhile I have clients who wanted characters for their themes. Like one mom wanted a Rapunzel theme invitation for her little girl’s 7th birthday. This characters really challenges my creativity, that’s because I need to look for a unique idea that moms will still like despite the character is not in the invitation. Then magical golden hair and the tower came in mind.

The tower was digitally drawn and laser printed using #280gsm coated paper. For the golden hair, we used yellow and light brown yarns and braid it instead so it won’t look like a dry dead hair, lol. Then a pop-up effect for the tower to look more fun.

The size was limited, it was roughly around 5in high and 3in wide. At first, I couldn’t figure out where to put the details. I don’t want to ruin the front design, so the back side was the only option. We did a folded style instead of just a side print.

I kinda like the outcome of this even though it’s a character invite. The flower pot was not included but it added some drama on the photos, right? hehe.
